Visit to Jack and Jayne's

On April 15 we drove to Palos Verdes Estates to visit our friend Jayne Hollis (nee Hedin) who was my room mate from Bible School in Sweden. Jayne travelled with us after school and was a bride's maid in our wedding. We hadn't seen each other since I was pregnant with Amy! Jack and Jayne have four children so our kids were thrilled to meet them. We had a wonderful time catching up on each other's lives and the kids got along great! We are hoping to see them one more time before heading north later in May.

The kids thought a photo of me blogging should be put on the blog...one of the rare times we had internet available in our campsite!

More Knott's Berry Farm

The girls went on this ride first...it was a swing that was 150 feet high and went 55 mph! They loved it....SO glad I didn't have to go on this one!!!
Bumper Car fun!

We had fun playing cards in the evenings....except me for this one, I was too busy reading a good book...Green, by Ted Dekker.

Hi Everyone...

We have spent the past week at Lake Havasu City in Arizona and then yesterday (Friday) came to Prescott, Arizona for the Wiskey 50 Mountain Bike Race. Mike rode 50 miles today and finished the race in good time. It was a perfect day for a ride...plus 20 and sunny with no wind.

We have had very limited access to internet this past week or so. Right now we are parked by a small no-name hotel and I guessed at their password and now we have internet! I will upload photos from our time at Lake Havasu and Prescott once we get somewhere where they have internet access at the campground.

We are having a wonderful time away...truly has felt like vacation time this past week. We`ve had a chance to get some reading done, listening to the Bible on CD in Mark`s Gospel as well as in Judges and we are also listening to the audio book, Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry.

We feel so blessed to have this family time together. We miss you all and look forward to catching up when we can. Until then, keep following us on our adventure in the Kehler Trailer!!

Knott's Berry Farm

On our last day with Brooklyn and Daniel we went to Knott's Berry Farm to enjoy all the rides. It was a perfect day of fun, laughter and thrills! After shutting the park down, we met up with Mike's Uncle Terry, Aunt Irene, Uncle Rob and Auntie Linda at Mrs. Knott's Fried Chicken for dinner.

Amy's 13th Birthday

On Sunday, April 11 we celebrated Amy's 13th birthday. We started the day by attending church at Calvary Chapel Palm Desert. Then we went to Carl's Jr. for a burger and shake and then headed to Knott's Soak City water park. What a great time! After that we headed to the Festival of Life where we enjoyed hearing Joel Rosenberg and Mike Macintosh speak and heard Steven Curtis Chapman and Brenton Brown sing. All-in-all, an amazing day!

Surprise for Braden and Amy and Joshua Tree National Park

On April 6 we left San Diego and drove to LAX. We said that Mike had to meet up with a co-worker from his past job at Tristone. We went in to meet him and instead the kids saw Brooklyn and Daniel Thorne! We had a wonderful 9 days with those kids. We headed to Palm Desert where the weather was hot and sunny. We stayed at Indian Wells RV park with three swimming pools and two hot tubs. The kids had a blast enjoying the nice weather and swimming in the pools. On our last day there, we made a day trip to Joshua Tree National Park in the desert. It was amazing to see all the huge boulders and the landscape at the park.
we spent lots of time climbing up huge rocks.

Campland in San Diego

After Mexico we had a relaxing few days at Campland in San Diego.
